I had a two-night layover in Singapore between New Zealand and Vietnam.

I landed in Singapore shortly after 5 am and got to my hotel at 7:30.

I couldn’t check in yet but they did let me get changed and then I was off to find breakfast. I ended up in an underground food mall, where I had some folded pancakes, that ended up being insanely good.
I walked to the Marina Bay area and visited the Sky Trees. I sat in their shade for a while and read my book before continuing my tour of the Bay area and going to the art museum.

I went to the exhibit that the staff recommended to me, which was clearly meant for kids, but I had a blast nonetheless. They had light installations and a slide that I slid down twice. They also had a colouring station, where I coloured a fish, which ended up getting scanned and then swimming around the walls of the room. They also had a neon climbing room, where I climbed every possible route.
After I had seen every room I went outside and called my grandma, while waiting for it to get dark.
When it was dark enough, I went back to the Super Trees to watch the light show. I did not get a good seat, so I decided to have some food and then come back for the second light show, which is exactly what I did.
The light shows were breathtaking, and I walked towards my bus stop through the Super Trees after the light show was over.

Super Trees at night

Getting to said bus turned into a bit of a struggle as I could not figure out how to get on the other side of the street. After about an hour I made it through an underground tunnel in a mall and could finally get back to my hotel.
The next day I slept through my alarm and got some much-needed sleep before deciding to explore Chinatown. I had an absolutely amazing Indian eggplant curry before walking around for a while and drinking a fresh coconut, I found a temple that I visited before my data randomly stopped working so I had to talk to customer service for half an hour while sitting on the curb of a random street as there was a wifi hotspot there.
When we finally resolved the issue I continued my way to the Marina Bay Sands to go up to C’est La Vie, the rooftop bar.
I was lucky enough that a group of Englishmen offered their table to me when they left, so I had a place to sit and enjoy the sunset. After a while, a group of Aussies asked if they could sit down at my table. I agreed, thinking they would have their conversation and I would mind my own business. That was very much not their idea and for the next two hours, I learned all about their life while simultaneously answering a million questions. I did get very good information on Perth and the life there, so it was very useful.

When I tried to get back to my hotel, I got lost in the huge mall underneath the rooftop bar, which ended in me looking at bags way out of my budget and accidentally ordering one to the store. I did not find out I ordered the bag until I was already in Vietnam and could not even look at it.
When I had looked at all the bags I finally went back and got some much-needed sleep, as I had to get up super early to go to the airport the next day.
